Belle Andrews :: 18 Belle smiled taking a drink from her Mocha Frappe as she contemplated what Clementine was saying, about Justin and about the island. It was true he was very respectful even t those younger then him but he would have to be careful people like Marshall would walk all over him given half the chance. After all Marshall was one not to give without taking but it did take without giving. “O he respects everyone, even if he doesn’t get any respect back, in a way he needs to be a little more disrespectful”She said as she absently stirred her drink with the straw, there was a lot swimming around in her mind at that moment and she was having trouble sorting them all out. “And yer basically it does, usually the day before I get a message with where, when, and who will be arriving, you see for centuries my ancestors have welcomed the newcomers but it has always been the females. You see the first person ever to arrive here was one of my ancestors, and Celeste told her all of the secrets of this island and they have been passed down from mother to daughter ever since. No one else understands this place as well as my family.”She said it was the simplest way she could think of to explain her weird connection with the island and why it was always her that went to welcome the newcomers whether she wanted too or not. Occasionally she would allow someone to retrieve them for her if they offered but not many did.

“Celeste.” Clementine repeated slowly, as if getting used to the word. The name was beautiful but something about it sent a chill down her spine that she had to hide by taking another sip of coffee. “So Celeste is the Island. Would that mean that the Island is alive?”
Well that would explain allot of the weird things that happened around here. Even though she had only been on the Island for one month, already, any news as strange as this was almost ordinary. If Belle ever wanted her to go and get a newcomer she’d be more than happy, after all she kind of knew what it entailed: You go there, you tell them, comfort them as best you can if you need to, and bring them back. Normally she would automatically ask but this was something that seemed more important than it sounded. If she was to screw up in any way who knew what sort of shit would go down.
Clementine brought the cup to her lips again when she noticed something about Belle’s expression. “Are you alright? You do not look very well.” Her brow creased.

Belle Andrews :: 18 Belle smiled a lot of people believed that the island was alive but in actual fact it wasn’t not at all, she wondered if she should tell Clementine this. She knew she would anyway even though she questioned whether it was a good idea, she knew it was better to tell her, after all that wasn’t one of the secrets of the island, its just very few people asked the question. “Not exactly, you see Celeste is the spirit of the island, she is the one that controls everything including the island, so because of her it can seem that the island is alive”She answered truthfully, there was no need in dodging around that question, it was one that she was aloud to answer, whether she chose to or not was the main thing. You see her grandmother had told a certain man and it had caused repercussions that no one could ever have imagined. Deep in thought about Andras the said repercussions she almost didn’t hear Clementine question her about her health. Looking up she smiled and shook it off my taking a long sip of her drink. “I’m fine, don’t worry about me Clem, I just have a lot on my mind.”She said in what she hoped was a confident and convincing tone she didn’t really want to have to talk about what those things were. It was hard to talk about her mother and baby sister even with those people who knew somewhat what happened let alone a new arrival. No it was better if it didn’t come up.

“Go Girl Power,” Clementine chuckled, swallowing the last of her drink, she placed the cup down on the table, and licked the last of the sugary beverage from her lips. She liked the fact that it was the women who where always trusted with getting the arrivals. She wasn’t feminist, but she had strong beliefs that women should get the same (if not more) rights than men. I mean really, where would a guy be without a woman behind them. They needed them.
“As long as you are sure that you are okay.” She nodded at Belle.
“Excuse me, Clementine,” She looked up to see Lucy looking down at them. She looked a little tense. “Sorry to interrupt but Fran had to knock off early for a dentist appointment, I was wondering if you could finish off her shift?”
“Oh yes, of course.” She said, her chair scraping backwards, she took the cup from the table and turned to Belle. “Do you mind if we continue this later?”
occ: running low on muse lately, sorry :-(

Belle Andrews :: 18 Belle smiled at Clementine’s reaction some were confused and some thought she was crazy talking about spirits ruling the island but she didn’t, and her reaction was completely different to anything she had ever heard or seen. Before she could make any sort of response to anything that Clementine had said Lucy was over at the table begging Clementine to fill in for Fran who had taken off early for a dentist appointment. “Yer no worries I got plenty to do anyway catch ya later Clem”She said with a smile as her chair scraped back, picking up her bag and slinging it over her shoulder and then her canvas and barely touched drink, pulling out some money she paid Lucy before walking out of the shop. She wanted to go home put the half finished painting up in her ‘art’ room with the rest, not to mention the washing, the dishes she had put of doing, feeding the animals again. Then there was all the repairs that needed to be done that she didn’t even want to contemplate but at the same time it was something to keep her mind off of everything before her mind exploded. Walking along she didn’t even see all the people waving to her, barely heard the people saying cheery hellos it wasn’t like Belle to let herself get so absorbed in thought that she didn’t put across her normal bubbly disguise, but today was different. Soon she was out of the town and she didn’t have to remember to wave last minute or call a quick hello and her thoughts really took over, and there was still a long walk ahead of her.
